Hi and thanks for taking the time to learn a little about the origins of South West Rocks Books.

My Irish partner Annie and I first decided to start selling books from our home in Swift Street Port Macquarie. We were going along fine for two years until the council in their infinite wisdom decided to close us down. My daughter Justine then informed me of a shop to let at Flynns Beach just two streets from Swift St.

We decided to take the gamble and took on the lease. We also did coffee and Anne's homemade cakes. It wasn't long till the word got out and the shop became a popular venue for locals and visitors alike.

We ran the business from 2008 till 2017 and decided to sell and moved to an historic federation home at Kempsey overlooking the Macleay River and out to the mountains.

In 2021 Annie sadly passed away and I moved to South West Rocks.
